| Privileged User Can Not Access Protected Data |
 |
| MySQL Security = Security-GENERAL for MySQL |
|
|
Security-GENERAL platform prevents privileged users from accessing confidential data in the clear text.
All
off-the-shelf operating systems have a flawed notion of trust. The
privileged user is implicitly trusted. This leads to a variety of
security problems. Many attempts have been made to fix this problem,
including one within a topnotch United States military agency.
However, these solutions have proven impractical for general business
use. The privileged user ("root") is not trusted within Security-GENERAL trust model. The demonstration will show that when the privileged user tries to access MySQL data, the operation fails and an alert is generated. Additionally, an immutable log entry is created that can't be altered by the privileged user.
